I’ve been working in the areas of website development, business training, technology consulting and teaching at the college level (and loving it) for about 10 years now. I enjoy working with a variety of clients to help build online presence and improve business processes. I have developed and am currently teaching a new Social Media Marketing Workshop Series, which focuses on evaluating online marketing strategies and understanding tools that can maximize Internet presence.
My work in education includes course development and teaching both in the classroom and online. I’ve taught courses in HTML, CSS, Dreamweaver, Ecommerce, Project Management and Microsoft Office. I’ve participated in the startup programs of online course delivery for 2 colleges, and developed curriculum for an Associate of General Studies in Web Design. My commitment to bringing business and community together led to the development of a Website Production course. This class allowed students to earn college credit while learning on-the-job training by creating websites for local businesses. Adjunct Instructor and/or course development includes working for Wichita State University, Wichita Area Technical College, Butler Community College, Southwestern College and Cowley College.
One of my most rewarding experiences was co-teaching a summer technology camp for children with Asperger syndrome. Chance, a 13-year old participant said:
“It probably helped my social skills a hundred. But I made friends which I had never really done before.”
Learning and communicating with these children was an amazing opportunity.
